So Hiro’s dad had promised to not only take us to his favorite chinese restaurant, but also to his favorite unagi restaurant. I have to say that since unagi is one my most favorite foods in the whole world, that makes him one of my most favorite people in the world.
We start out with this lovely appetizer of sashimi (raw) shirasu, which are larval sardines with some wasabi, fresh ginger, and shiso- the latter is a strong tasting mint-like plant that often comes with sashimi.
